Choosing the Right Size — A Guide to VoidHive Forge Scale Options
Share
One of the most common questions we get at VoidHive Forge is simple: which size should I choose? With models ranging from 120mm skirmisher scale all the way up to 250mm apex centrepieces, the answer depends on how you plan to use them — and what you want them to achieve on the table or display shelf.
120mm — The Skirmisher
At 120mm, VoidHive Forge models sit comfortably alongside standard 28–32mm tabletop miniatures as large creatures or monstrous infantry. They’re ideal for unit fillers, objective markers, or elite shock troops that need to stand out without dominating the board visually. Fast to paint, easy to transport, and punchy on the table.
160mm — The Mid-Tier Centrepiece
The 160mm scale hits a sweet spot for players who want genuine centrepiece presence without overwhelming the rest of their army. These models command attention from across the table while still feeling like part of a coherent force. A great choice for named characters or elite unit leaders.
200mm — The Full Centrepiece
At 200mm, you’re firmly in display and centrepiece territory. These models anchor armies, dominate display boards, and photograph beautifully. The additional scale means more surface area for advanced painting techniques — blending, OSL, and freehand all become significantly easier to execute.
200mm Long — The Dynamic Pose Variant
The extended long pose variants add horizontal reach to the 200mm scale — ideal for dynamic lunge or strike poses that create a sense of movement frozen in time. These are the models that stop people at conventions.
250mm+ — The Apex Tier
Reserved for the most imposing bioforms in the VoidHive range, apex-tier models like the Synapse Devourer are statement pieces in every sense. One model. One shelf. Total dominance.
