The Sculpt

The Cortex Reaper is built around contrast: massive, crushing limbs paired with an almost elegant cranial structure that speaks to its psychic nature. Synaptic nodes run along the spine and shoulders, each one a focal point for OSL work. The pose is dynamic without being chaotic — it reads as a creature mid-command, not mid-charge, which gives it an unsettling authority that pure aggression can't match.

Cast in premium high-detail grey resin, available in three sizes. Every surface rewards close inspection: layered chitin plates, exposed neural tissue, and bio-weapon growths that tell the story of a creature engineered for dominance.

Painting Approach

The Cortex Reaper is built for ambitious painters. The synaptic nodes are natural OSL sources — build your glow from teal or purple at the node, feathering outward with thin glazes onto the surrounding chitin. The large flat chitin plates are ideal for wet blending practice: take your base colour from deep shadow to a near-white highlight across a single plate for maximum impact under competition lighting.

For the neural tissue between the chitin plates, a wet, fleshy look works best — warm base tone, heavy wash, then careful highlights on the raised strands only.
