Resin Assembly, Care & Display

Protect the details. Preserve the creature. Practical guidance for assembling, caring for and displaying your VoidHive Forge resin miniatures.
Joining parts
Dry-fit parts first and keep joining surfaces clean, dry and free of paint. Use a cyanoacrylate superglue suitable for resin. At the Forge, we pair this with a compatible superglue activator spray. Follow both manufacturers' application, ventilation and safety instructions, and allow the join to cure as directed before handling. Ordinary plastic cement for polystyrene kits will not bond these resin parts.
Filling gaps
Use a modelling putty suitable for resin. Apply small amounts and smooth carefully without obscuring nearby detail. Allow it to cure fully before priming.
At the Forge, we also use small amounts of the same printing resin, cured with a small UV torch. This optional method is for experienced hobbyists following the resin manufacturer's handling and curing instructions; it is not a substitute for structural adhesive. UV light must reach the applied resin. Do not fill deep or concealed cavities where uncured resin could remain trapped.
Wear the gloves and eye protection specified for your resin, use the recommended ventilation and avoid skin contact with uncured resin. Never look directly into the UV torch or expose skin to its beam. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for compatible curing equipment, exposure and disposal. If sanding is needed, minimise dust and follow the material manufacturer's safety guidance, including suitable respiratory protection.
Sunlight and UV exposure
Choose a display position away from prolonged direct sunlight. Do not assume paint, varnish or a display case provides UV protection unless its manufacturer specifically confirms this.
Heat
Keep models away from radiators, heat vents, hot lamps and other heat sources. Avoid hot windowsills and leaving models in closed vehicles. Do not attempt heat reshaping without guidance for the specific resin.
Dust and cleaning
Remove loose dust gently with a clean, soft brush. Support the model while cleaning and avoid catching delicate claws, tendrils or projecting details. An enclosed display case helps reduce dust. Avoid harsh cleaning products and vigorous scrubbing; follow the paint and finish manufacturers' cleaning advice.
Storage and transport
Store models in a dry place with stable temperatures. Use a rigid container with suitable cushioning, supporting the base and sturdy areas rather than pressing against delicate details. Keep pieces from moving or rubbing together, and do not stack weight on top of them.
Safe display and handling
Place your model on a level, stable shelf with enough room for its full footprint and projecting parts. Check that the base and assembled joins are secure. Lift by the base while supporting the model as needed, never by a claw, weapon or tendril. Keep fragile, pointed pieces out of reach of young children and pets.
For large centrepieces such as the Synapse Devourer, check shelf clearance and stability before positioning the model. Keep it away from edges and places where it could be knocked.
