Ossifex belongs to the latter.

A heavily reinforced biological warform, Ossifex combines dense skeletal armour with powerful musculature and brutal natural weaponry. Its anatomy has been shaped by relentless evolutionary pressure, producing a creature that appears less like a conventional animal and more like a living engine of destruction.

The outer structure provides protection while the exposed biological elements reveal the living organism beneath.
