THE DOSSIER
THE HUNT
Most organisms of the Hive announce their arrival through numbers. The Veiled Hunt announces itself through absence.
Communication ceases. Patrols disappear. Bodies are not recovered.
Four highly specialised bioforms operate as components of a single predatory system. Each fulfils a different function within the Hunt, yet none acts entirely alone.
They identify the quarry. They isolate it. They pursue it.
And when the Hunt closes around its prey, escape is no longer part of the equation.
The Veiled Hunt is not deployed to win battles.
It is deployed to end something.

PACK BEHAVIOUR
The Veiled Hunt does not behave as four individual predators.
Once a target has been identified, the pack begins operating as a single hunting organism — each bioform instinctively assuming its role without command, hesitation or visible communication.
The first does not attack. It observes.
Movement patterns are learned. Escape routes are identified. Defences are tested. The quarry may remain completely unaware that the Hunt has begun.
Then the pack starts to close.
One hunter drives the target from safety. Another denies retreat. A third remains unseen, anticipating where the quarry will move rather than following where it has been.
The final bioform does not pursue. It waits.
By the time the prey understands what is happening, every decision it makes has already been anticipated by another member of the pack.
This is what makes the Veiled Hunt so dangerous. Individually, each organism is an exceptional predator. Together, their specialised instincts overlap until there are almost no exploitable weaknesses between them.
They do not swarm. They do not compete for the kill. They do not waste biomass in prolonged engagements.
The Hunt isolates the target, dismantles its protection and progressively reduces its options until only one remains.
The one the Hunt intended from the beginning.
HUNTING SEQUENCE
OBSERVE → ISOLATE → DISPLACE → ENCIRCLE → TERMINATE
No signal marks the beginning of the attack. No roar announces the charge.
Often, the first indication that the Veiled Hunt is present is simply that something which should have returned… doesn’t.
FIELD OBSERVATION
RECOVERED TRANSMISSION // VH-OBS-001
SOURCE: Forward Reconnaissance Unit
STATUS: Unit Lost
RECOVERY: Partial Audio Log
“We knew something was following us. We just couldn’t see it.
First we lost the rear sentry. No sound. No warning. One moment he was there — the next, nothing.
Then the eastern perimeter stopped responding.
That’s when we saw the first one. It didn’t attack. It just stood there… watching us.
We opened fire and it disappeared into the ruins. We thought we’d frightened it off.
We were wrong. It wanted us to move.
Every direction we took, there was another one waiting. They weren’t chasing us. They were moving us. Herding us.
By the time we understood, there were only three of us left.
We thought there were four creatures. There weren’t.
There was only the Hunt.”
TRANSMISSION TERMINATED
No members of the reconnaissance unit were recovered.
CODEX ANALYSIS
The recording provides one of the clearest documented examples of Veiled Hunt behaviour.
Of particular significance is the survivor’s observation that the bioforms appeared to deliberately expose themselves at specific moments. This supports the theory that individual members of the Hunt can manipulate prey movement without direct engagement, progressively funnelling the target toward a predetermined termination zone.
The appearance of one hunter should therefore never be interpreted as an isolated encounter.
If one has allowed itself to be seen, the others are already in position.
PAINT THE VEILED HUNT
Four predators. One brood. Your interpretation.
The Veiled Hunt was designed to work as a single predatory force, but that doesn’t mean every hunter has to look identical.
Their layered chitin, exposed organic tissue, claws, talons and intricate surface detail provide an ideal canvas for everything from fast tabletop schemes to highly detailed display painting.
Whether you choose cold alien flesh, deep hive purples, toxic bio-glow, bone armour or something entirely your own, the Hunt rewards contrast — allowing each bioform to retain its individual character while remaining unmistakably part of the same brood.
THE OFFICIAL VOIDHIVE FORGE SCHEME
Our studio scheme uses contrasting organic flesh and hardened chitin to emphasise the anatomy of each hunter, with carefully placed highlights drawing attention to the claws, facial structures and predatory silhouette.
The same core palette can be carried across all four members of the Veiled Hunt, creating a unified pack while allowing subtle variations between individual bioforms.

THE HUNT AWAITS
The Veiled Hunt is available as a complete four-bioform collection from VoidHive Forge.
Each hunter possesses its own distinctive silhouette, anatomy and predatory character, while together the four form a cohesive hunting brood designed for display, painting and tabletop collections.
Printed in high-detail resin and supplied unpainted, the Veiled Hunt gives painters the freedom to recreate the official VoidHive Forge scheme — or evolve a brood entirely of their own.
